Open Call for Proposals for Innovation Development PRIMESTeP 2026

Bandung, dkst.itb.ac.id – In order to encourage the downstreaming of research results and strengthen the innovation ecosystem at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), ITB is opening proposal registrations for the Innovation Development under the Promoting Research and Innovation through Modern and Efficient Science and Technology Parks (PRIME STeP) Program 2026.

The PRIME STeP Program is an innovative research funding program supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), focusing on strengthening Science and Technology Areas and accelerating the commercialization of research results. In 2026, this program targets the emergence of market-ready innovative products with a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 9, supported by the utilization of Intellectual Property and strategic collaboration with industrial partners.

This year, PRIME STeP is opening two funding schemes for the ITB academic community:

1. Technology Enhancement Scheme: Intended for research with an initial TRL Level 6 to encourage technology readiness improvement.
2. Technology Downstreaming Scheme: Intended for research with TRL 8 to achieve TRL 9 and commercialization readiness.

Through the PRIME STeP 2026 Program, it is expected to achieve an increase in the quality of applied research, the strengthening of academy–industry collaboration, and the acceleration of the commercialization of ITB's flagship innovations.
