Exploring Innovation and Entrepreneurship Collaboration between ITB and UCL

Bandung, dkst.itb.ac.id – On February 27, 2025, a strategic meeting was held between the Directorate of Science and Technology Area (DKST) ITB, the International Relationship Office (IRO) ITB, and University College London (UCL). This meeting marks a significant initial step in exploring potential collaboration between two leading institutions in the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship, as well as academic and research cooperation.

During the discussion, UCL expressed its interest in establishing a closer partnership with ITB, particularly in the development of an entrepreneurship exchange program. One of the initiatives discussed was the adoption of the i-Teams program, a model that has been successfully implemented in university environments to strengthen the connection between academic research and the industrial world. The implementation of this program is expected to have a real impact in facilitating the transformation of research results into applicable solutions in society.

Furthermore, this meeting also opened up space for joint research cooperation opportunities and the exchange of academic resources as part of the internationalization efforts of both institutions. In this regard, the funding aspect is one of the issues that will be further reviewed, considering that the success of cross-border programs heavily relies on sustainable and strategic financial support.

With a collaborative spirit and global vision, this initiative is expected to become a catalyst in strengthening the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Indonesia, while simultaneously expanding ITB's international network in the world of higher education and research.
