BANDUNG, DKST.ITB.AC.ID – The Directorate of Science and Techno Park (DKST) ITB received a comparative study visit from the business incubator program of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, Skystar Ventures UMN, on Thursday (February 26, 2026).
Located in the ITB Innovation Park Bandung Technopolis area, this agenda focused on benchmarking activities related to business incubation management, startup selection mechanisms, and tenant mentoring strategies.
The delegation from Skystar Ventures UMN consisted of four people, led by Business Incubator Vice Manager, Cinthya Tania, along with Head of Program Michelle Greysianti, Program Officer Hoky Nanda, and Creative Officer Reynaldy Michael.

The group was welcomed directly by the Deputy Director of Business Incubation and Acceleration at DKST ITB, Fathiro Hutama Reksa Putra, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. During the discussion session, Fathiro explained the role of the DKST ITB ecosystem as a downstreaming hub that focuses on bridging academic innovation with industry needs.
The discussion was interactive, especially when the UMN delegation asked about business selection indicators and the duration of the incubation program at ITB. Responding to this, Fathiro explained that DKST ITB focuses on innovations that have reached a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 7 to 9.
“The screening process for startups or tenants is usually conducted through an open call (Open Call for Proposal) to ensure that the innovation is ready to be accelerated toward commercialization. Regarding the duration, DKST provides an intensive mentoring and incubation period for one year,” Fathiro explained.
To maximize the impact of commercialization, DKST ITB aims to mentor 30 startups this year.

Following the discussion session, the agenda continued with a field visit (lab tour) to several research and development facilities in Building 1 of the ITB Innovation Park. The Skystar Ventures group was invited to see the leading research ecosystem firsthand, ranging from the Smart City laboratory (SCCIC) on the 9th floor, biomedical engineering (EBM Scitech) on the 8th floor, to the integrated circuit design center (ICDeC) on the 7th floor.
This visit is expected to strengthen the synergy between university incubators in building a resilient and impactful national startup ecosystem.
