Hackathon 2025: AI for Sustainability Drives Technological Innovation for Sustainability

Bandung, dkst.itb.ac.id — The Directorate of Science and Technology Area (DKST) ITB once again presents a collaborative event for young innovators through Hackathon 2025: AI for Sustainability. This activity serves as a space for students, young researchers, and early-stage startups to innovate and develop Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based solutions to support sustainability.

With the theme “AI for Sustainability”, this hackathon emphasizes the importance of applying smart technology to address global challenges, particularly in the fields of green economy, energy efficiency, waste management, and food security.

Registration and Mechanism

Registration for Hackathon 2025 is open from November 5–14, 2025, through the official DKST ITB website at bit.ly/ITB-HACKATHON2025.
Participants can register individually or in teams (2–4 people) and can be students, alumni, or members of the innovation and technological research community.

The selection will be conducted in several stages, starting from administrative and idea selection to the formation of cross-disciplinary teams. The entire series of activities will take place from November 21–27, 2025, including mentoring sessions, a hackathon sprint, and pitching & demo day.

Prizes and Benefits

In addition to the opportunity to win a grand prize worth 50 million rupiah, participants will also receive direct mentoring from industry experts and academics to develop their ideas into ready-to-implement solutions.

This activity is part of the Impactful DIKTISAINTEK program, which focuses on the application of science and technology to drive the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
