DKST ITB Takes Part in the 66th Anniversary Celebration of ITB
Bandung, dkst.itb.ac.id – The Directorate of Science and Technology Area (DKST) ITB participated in the 66th Anniversary Celebration of the Bandung Institute of Technology, held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Sabuga ITB. This agenda was attended by thousands of academicians and the extended ITB family, featuring various activities such as sports, entertainment, exhibitions of works, and door prize giveaways.
One of the programs that was part of the sustainability theme was the Petualangan SurGa Hijau, a collaboration between ITB and the Circular Dago Community. This activity invited participants to collect waste from the Dago area and transform it into an installation art piece themed “Waste Metamorphosis: Transforming Trash into Messages and Aesthetics”.
In this activity, the DKST team presented a work titled "66 Messages for Shelter", an installation combining pieces of wood, twigs, plastic, and scrap paper. Even though these materials were no longer intact or usable, they were all combined into a single work depicting a shelter, a symbol of a workspace, a creative space, and a place to contribute.
This installation also inserted 66 collectively written messages, containing hopes, prayers, ideas, and even criticisms, as a form of reflection on ITB's journey and the challenges ahead. This work was one of several installations exhibited at Sabuga during the event. Through this work, DKST also successfully won 2nd Place in the Green SurGa Adventure competition.
The Rector of ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., expressed his appreciation to all parties involved, including working units such as DKST. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of the campus community's role in building collective awareness of sustainability and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
For DKST, participating in this event became part of its active involvement in cross-unit activities that elevate the values of collaboration, environmental awareness, and campus community participation. In addition to being a celebration, this Anniversary momentum also strengthened the interaction between the academic community and supporting units in an open and inclusive atmosphere.
